Terms of Service

Last updated: August 28, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the OneCase website and application at onecaseapp.com and any related services (the “Service”), which are provided by OneCase. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

OneCase is a case-matching platform that helps individuals describe their legal situation and connects them with attorneys. OneCase is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or legal services. OneCase does not represent you, and no attorney-client relationship is formed between you and OneCase.

2. No legal advice; no attorney-client relationship

Information provided by the Service, including any guidance from our intake assistant, is general information and not legal advice. You should consult a licensed attorney for advice about your specific situation.

Submitting information to OneCase does not, by itself, create an attorney-client relationship with OneCase or any attorney. Whether communications with an attorney are protected by attorney-client privilege or other confidentiality protections depends on the circumstances and applicable law.

3. Attorney matching

OneCase may help identify or connect you with attorneys. Any decision to contact, hire, or retain an attorney is yours, and any representation is solely between you and that attorney. OneCase does not guarantee that any attorney will accept your case or achieve any outcome, and is not responsible for any attorney's advice, services, conduct, or fees. Availability of attorneys and services varies by state.

4. Authorized sharing of your intake information

When you submit intake information through the Service, you authorize OneCase to share that information with attorneys and law firms for the purpose of matching you with legal help. Submitting or sharing intake information through OneCase does not, by itself, create an attorney-client relationship with OneCase or any attorney. Whether communications with an attorney are protected by attorney-client privilege or other confidentiality protections depends on the circumstances and applicable law.

5. Cash advances and funding partners

Optional living-expense advances, where offered, are provided by independent third-party funding partners, not by OneCase. After you retain a participating lawyer on a qualifying contingency matter, OneCase may allow you to apply to a named funding company for an optional living-expense advance of up to $5,000 for a first advance, if approved. Larger amounts are possible only if that funding company approves them based on your case. OneCase is not a lender, does not promise any amount, and is not responsible for the funding company’s underwriting or funding decisions.

If a funding company funds an optional living-expense advance on a qualifying contingency matter, and a separate OneCase placement fee is permitted for your case state, OneCase may receive a fee calculated on the funded amount as follows: 10 percent on amounts from $1,000 up to $5,000; 7.5 percent on amounts from $5,000 to $10,000; 7 percent on amounts over $10,000 up to $50,000; 6 percent on amounts over $50,000 up to $100,000; and 5 percent on amounts over $100,000. That fee is separate from attorney fees and from the OneCase platform fee. It is not due unless the advance is actually funded. Advertising on the Service refers to an advance of up to $5,000; any larger amount depends on the funding company and the case.

6. Fees; the $44.99 platform fee

Creating an account and submitting an intake through OneCase does not require a fee. OneCase charges a one-time platform fee only after you choose an attorney through OneCase, electronically sign that attorney's retainer agreement, and complete the separate OneCase platform-fee e-sign. The current platform fee is $44.99 for Standard or $64.99 for Expedite. If you do not select an attorney and sign a retainer through OneCase, you are charged $0.00.

No charge, authorization hold, or temporary hold is made when you save a payment method. Saving a payment method stores a card for later and does not create a charge, hold, or authorization. OneCase may charge the one-time $44.99 Standard or $64.99 Expedite platform fee only if and when you select an attorney through OneCase, electronically sign that attorney's retainer, and complete the separate OneCase platform-fee e-sign.

7. Payment processing

When you save a payment method, payment information is processed by a third-party payment provider and may also be subject to that provider's terms and privacy practices.

8. Your account and responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your account access secure. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. You agree not to misuse the Service, submit false information, or interfere with the Service's operation.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service for unlawful purposes, to harass others, to submit content you do not have the right to submit, or to attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service.

10. Intellectual property

The Service and its content are owned by OneCase and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of the case information you submit. You grant OneCase a license to use your submitted information to provide the Service, including matching, summarizing, and operating the Service.

11. Third-party links and services

The Service may link to or integrate third-party websites and services (such as payment processors, funding partners, and attorneys). OneCase is not responsible for the content, practices, or availability of third-party services.

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. OneCase does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will result in a match with an attorney.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OneCase and its affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or case information.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms and any disputes relating to the Service are governed by applicable law. Any dispute will be resolved in a court or other forum with proper jurisdiction.

15. Changes to these Terms

OneCase may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide notice of material changes where appropriate, and the updated effective date is shown on this page.
